Numismatic Coins
-
What is numismatic coin? It is a coin whose value or price depends more on its date, condition, rarity value, connection to history, aesthetic attraction and mint mark of the coin, than its face value.
-
How do you know if the coins found in your great grandma's couch are just toll money or if you struck gold? There are three primary variables that can help guide you before giving us a visit.
-
First, The initial Mintage number which refers to how many of that coin were available to the market.
-
Second, The coin's grade. The better condition the coin, the more valuable BUT, do not, and we repeat DO NOT, clean your coin as some coins drastically lose their value once cleaned.
-
Third, Demand, demand, demand. A rare coin means nothing if no one wants it.
-
Your best bet is to research your coins, find the highlights that you feel are worth the most and getting them graded by the PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) so that we can give you the best offer.
Bullion
-
Most tend to reference gold in the commodity market, but with Bullion there are assortments of other precious metals such as Platinum and Silver that can be invested in as well.
-
Gold Bullion is at least 99.5% pure and is a great investment as its long history makes for an attractive and secure, long-term investment for wealth preservation.
-
Other precious metals like Platinum and Silver may be more volatile but are great options too. Ultimately, it depend on the type of diversification needs you have.
Paper
-
Paper money follows the same guidelines listed under Numismatic Coins but has a few specifications that set it apart more than most would realize.
-
Coins are significantly more available as they have existed longer in the world's history and can withstand more weathering than paper.
-
Paper also tends to have more opportunity for of variations and flaws that attribute to their rarity.
-
The currency on bills being higher face values also means they are more expensive to purchase in general beyond just rarity.
